Nanumba South Youth Receive Start-Up Kits Under BizBox Project

The Nanumba South District Assembly has distributed start-up kits to young people under the Business in a Box (BizBox) Project, an initiative supported by the Mastercard Foundation and implemented by the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).

The intervention is aimed at equipping young people with the tools and skills needed to establish and grow sustainable businesses, generate income and create employment opportunities within their communities.

The distribution forms part of broader efforts to promote youth entrepreneurship and provide young people with practical opportunities to build sustainable livelihoods and improve their economic wellbeing.

Through the BizBox Project, beneficiaries are supported with relevant start-up resources to enable them to translate their skills and entrepreneurial ideas into viable businesses.

The programme also seeks to reduce unemployment among young people by providing them with opportunities to become economically self-reliant while contributing to local economic development.

The initiative is part of a broader four-year programme targeting the creation of 250,000 dignified and fulfilling jobs for young people across Ghana by 2027.

The programme places particular emphasis on creating opportunities for women and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), ensuring that vulnerable groups are included in efforts to expand employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The Nanumba South District Assembly's participation in the initiative is expected to provide beneficiaries with a foundation to start or strengthen their businesses and build sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families.

The intervention reflects ongoing efforts by government and development partners to address youth unemployment through entrepreneurship, skills development and access to the resources required to establish sustainable enterprises.
