N JUABEN S: JUSCO receives 3 classroom block through

The government continues to work towards improving infrastructure at the senior high school level in fulfillment of the free senior high school education introduced by the government.

The government introduced an Emergency Senior High School Project (ESHSP) through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GET Fund) to put up new classroom blocks across the country to enhance spacing in reducing the overcrowding of students in classrooms.

Teracon Consult won the bid to construct the classroom block in the Eastern Region from which the contract was awarded to “Sweet-Mat Company Limited” to build three (3) classroom blocks at New Juaben Senior High School (NJUASCO)-Koforidua within a duration of eight (8) months.

Last Monday, June 29, 2020, Mr. Isaac Appaw-Gyasi, the New Juaben South Municipal Chief Executive paid a working visit to New Juaben Senior High School and handed over keys to the completed 3 classroom blocks to the authorities of the school.

He advised the school authorities to exhibit maintenance culture to prevent the building from being weakened.

He continued by saying, President Akufo-Addo really care and committed to giving quality free senior high school to the citizens of Ghana, despite all propagandas against this agenda.

Mr. Agyei Sefa a consult from the Teracon Consult said the duration period for the completion of the building is 8 months but has been completed in 9 months due to the delay in the procurement of materials.

On the part of the Municipal Director of Education (MDE), Mr. Victor Degraft confirmed the late completion of classroom block due to delay procurements of materials. He again said the classroom will serve as a means of reducing pressure on the social distancing protocols.

The headmaster for New Juaben Senior High School, Mr. Mark Ofori thanked the government for establishing the classroom block for school and promised to use it for intended purpose especially in this era of the COVID-19, which it will facilitate the fight against the virus
