The visit was to assess the extent of the damage and identify urgent interventions to ensure the safety, welfare, and continued education of the affected students.
During their interaction with the school's management, staff, and students, the MP and MCE expressed their solidarity with the school community and assured them of their commitment to work closely with relevant stakeholders to facilitate the swift renovation of the damaged dormitory.
They encouraged the students to remain calm, resilient, and focused on their academic pursuits, assuring them that every effort would be made to restore normalcy and improve their living conditions.
As part of immediate relief measures, the Jirapa Municipal Assembly and the Office of the Member of Parliament donated essential supplies, including gari, sugar, milk, soap, mosquito nets, tissue rolls, exercise books, pens, and mathematical sets, to support the affected students during the difficult period.
In addition, the MP and MCE engaged a team of tailors to take measurements for approximately 120 male students who lost their school uniforms in the fire, with new uniforms to be sewn and supplied at no cost to them.
To provide temporary accommodation, they also supplied louvre frames, louvre blades, and nails to support the renovation of the school's old dining hall, which will serve as a temporary hostel for students displaced by the disaster.
