GEA Commissions And Hands Over Processing Equipment To Kofi Vinyo And Company Limited

The Ghana Enterprises Agency through its UNIDO Kaizen Expansion Project has commissioned and handed processing equipment, machinery and a laboratory to Kofi Vinyo and Company Limited, a prominent agribusiness based in Kwatire in the Sunyani West Municipality to boost local operations.

Mr. Kipo Dari of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Ghana charged management of the company to ensure the equipments are used to achieve its full purpose to enable the company become leading agro-processor.

Madam Margaret Ansei, Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Enterprises Agency said her outfit aimed at empowering Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with productive assests and post deployment support.

According to her the equipment will help up grade local value addition, production efficiency and commercial activities of the company.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Kwasi Asante-Boateng (Esq), acknowledged the efforts of the Ghana Enterprises Agency and support its rendering to business especially Kofi Vinyo and Company Limited and assured that the Municipal Assembly will partner the Agency to ensure more Small and Medium Enterprises in the Municipality benefit from their training and support to enable them also create employment for the youth.

The Bono regional Minister, Mr. Joseph Addai Akwaboah in his address said, the intervention forms part of the president Mahama administration broader agenda to promote Ghanaian innovation, strengthen entrepreneurship, empower young people and create sustainable employment opportunities.

The Minister reaffirmed the regional coordinating council’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for local businesses to thrive and contribute to economic development. He also urged Kofi Vinyo and Company Limited to maintain and utilize the equipment effectively, uphold high operational standards, continuously improve productivity and create more jobs for the youth.

Mr. Kofi Vinyo, CEO of Kofi Vinyo and Company Limited expressed gratitude to the Ghana Enterprise Agency and its development partners for supporting them with the equipments which will help improve their production.
