Atwima Mponua Assembly Acquires IGF-Funded Pickup To Strengthen Revenue Mobilisation

The vehicle was officially handed over to the Assembly on Tuesday, 6th October 2026, by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Issahak Ibrahim, during a brief ceremony at the Assembly premises.

The acquisition comes at a time when the Assembly had only two pickups in good working condition, making field operations and effective service delivery across the district increasingly challenging. Recognising the need for improved logistics, the DCE and management made the procurement of an additional vehicle a priority.

According to Hon. Issahak Ibrahim, the decision to finance the vehicle from the Assembly’s internally generated resources is a significant milestone and the first of its kind in the history of the Assembly.

“This is more than the acquisition of a vehicle. It is an investment in the Assembly’s operational capacity, particularly our efforts to improve revenue mobilisation, which remains critical to our ability to finance development and respond to the needs of our communities,” he said.

The DCE expressed pride that his tenure has seen internally generated resources being reinvested into strengthening the institution responsible for driving development across Atwima Mponua. He urged officers to take good care of the vehicle and strictly adhere to all scheduled maintenance.

The keys to the vehicle were subsequently handed over to the Assembly’s Transport Officer, Mr. Lawrence Osei, with the new pickup expected to provide much-needed logistical support as the Assembly intensifies revenue mobilisation and field operations across the district.
