Awutu Senya East MP Leads Sod-Cutting for CHIPS Compound Project

The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Hon. Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, has led a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHIPS) Compound in the municipality, marking a significant step towards improving access to quality healthcare.

The ceremony brought together community members, local authorities, and key stakeholders in the health sector, all of whom expressed optimism about the impact of the project on healthcare delivery in the area.

The CHIPS Compound Project is aimed at strengthening primary healthcare services, particularly at the community level, by bringing essential health services closer to residents. It is expected to help reduce the burden on major health facilities while ensuring timely and efficient medical care for the people.
 

Speaking during an interview with Ghanadistricts TV following a visit to his office, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Seth Sabath Serwornoo-Banini, reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to improving infrastructure and service delivery within the municipality. He noted that the project forms part of broader efforts to enhance the wellbeing of residents and promote sustainable development.

He further emphasized that the Assembly remains focused on partnering with key stakeholders to deliver projects that directly impact the lives of the people, particularly in the areas of health, education, and local development.

Residents have welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that the completion of the CHIPS Compound will significantly improve access to healthcare services and contribute to the overall development of Awutu Senya East.
