The projects, which are scheduled for sod-cutting on Tuesday, January 13, include the construction of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Adzoatsi, a Kindergarten (KG) block at the Dzodze Fiagbedu Roman Catholic School, a six-unit classroom block at the Tadzewu Law Memorial Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P.) Basic School, and another CHPS compound at Wuti- Kutsinu.

These projects form part of the Municipal Assembly’s broader development agenda to address critical infrastructure gaps in both the health and education sectors, particularly in underserved communities.

The CHPS compounds are expected to bring primary health care services closer to residents, reduce travel time to health facilities, and improve maternal and child health outcomes.

The new classroom and kindergarten blocks are also expected to ease congestion, enhance teaching and learning, and provide a more conducive environment for pupils and teachers.

Earlier in October, during the Member of Parliament’s Quarterly Accountability Series held at Penyi, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Rev Martin Amenaki, announced the commencement of these and other development projects.

He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to prioritising investments that directly impact the welfare of residents and contribute to the long-term socio- economic development of the municipality.

Rev Amenaki noted that the projects reflect the collective efforts of the Assembly, traditional authorities, and development partners to respond to the needs of communities, especially in the areas of health and education.

The sod-cutting ceremony is expected to attract several dignitaries, including Mr Eric Edem Agbana the Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Mr. James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, traditional leaders, heads of departments, and other stakeholders.

The Assembly expressed optimism that the timely completion of the projects would significantly improve service delivery and enhance the quality of life of residents in the Ketu North Municipality.
