The anniversary, marked yesterday, brought together stakeholders including the School Management Committee (SMC), Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), staff, students, and community members to reflect on the school's journey since its establishment in September 2016.
Humble Beginnings
According to information gathered, the school was established by the Ghana Education Service (GES) upon the request of Madam Wasila Abdallah Sofo, then Headmistress of Prang D/A No. 2 Junior High School. The establishment was supported by the SMC, PTA, and staff of Prang D/A No. 2 JHS. The school was named after a former Headmaster of Prang D/A No. 2 JHS, former Circuit Supervisor for Prang North Circuit, and now CEO of Semanhyia Company Ltd., Prang.
In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Madam Wasila Abdallah Sofo recounted that the school began with an enrollment of 40 pupils 21 boys and 19 girls from Kindergarten to Basic 3. The initial staff comprised Madam Wasila as Headmistress, National Service Personnel Miss Agyili Lawrencia, Community Education Teaching Assistants Suad Ibrahim and Cecilia Darkwah, and voluntary teacher Hamdala Issahaku.
"Born Out of Necessity"

Madam Wasila emphasized that the school was "born out of a necessity to provide quality education to children of Prang and its environs." She noted that many doubted the school's survival, but "by the grace of God, we are 10 years old, strong and growing from strength to strength."
The Headmistress used the occasion to appeal to the Ghana Education Service, from the national to the local directorate, to address the teacher deficit facing the school, describing it as one of the institution's key challenges.
"I am pleading to my entire teachers to empower the students with quality teaching, especially the girl child," she said, while urging students to be well-disciplined.
Fathers Called to Action
Madam Wasila expressed disappointment at the low turnout and lack of involvement from fathers of pupils during the anniversary celebration. She advised fathers that "it is not only the mothers who gave birth to their children," urging them to be "up and doing both at home and at school."

Donation and Commendation
The CEO of Semanhyia Company Ltd., Nana Nsiah Addae, acknowledged the good work done by Madam Wasila and her teaching staff. He donated GHC 10,000 in cash to support the school's fundraising efforts and presented a brand-new Chester Freezer to Madam Wasila.
Nana Nsiah Addae praised the Headmistress and her staff, urging them to strive for even greater achievements in the years ahead. He also called on the PTA, SMC, students, and the entire community to support the school's growth.
The anniversary celebration served as both a reflection on a decade of educational service and a rallying call for increased community involvement, particularly from fathers, in shaping the future of Prang's children.
