Berekum West MP, DCE commission classroom block for St. Augustine’s SHS

The Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Mr. Dickson Kyere-Duah, has commissioned a 12- unit classroom block with four offices for St. Augustine’s Senior High School at Nsapor.

He said the state-of-the-art facility would enhance the learning environment and improve the educational experience of students in the community.

The MP also launched the Berekum West Education Fund to support brilliant but needy students and improve educational infrastructure across the constituency.

According to him, the fund would provide scholarships, supply critical teaching and learning materials, and upgrade facilities in deprived schools.

The MP has also allocated GH¢200,000 to support brilliant but needy students pursuing tertiary education in the district.

The Bono Regional Director of Education, Mr. David Owusu Ansah, expressed concern about declining student enrolment due to inadequate facilities, noting that the new classroom block had come at the right time to address the challenge.

He said the facility would reduce congestion and help retain students in school until closing time and pledged to ensure proper maintenance for the benefit of future generations.

The District Chief Executive for Berekum West, Mr. Collins Asamoah, reiterated the government’s commitment to quality education in the district and assured residents of his continued accountability to the people.

He added that the government would provide chairs for the new classrooms to enable students to begin using the facility promptly.

Students, staff, and residents expressed appreciation to the MP for his commitment to education, describing the education fund as a milestone in the constituency’s development.
