The students received financial assistance ranging from GH¢800 to GH¢5,000, based on their respective academic fees and needs. The beneficiaries were drawn from various universities, Colleges of Education, and Nurses’ Training Colleges across the country.

At a brief presentation ceremony held at the Wenchi Municipal Assembly Hall, the MP explained that the initiative is intended to ease the financial burden on students and ensure that brilliant but needy individuals from the constituency are not deprived of higher education due to financial challenges.

He noted that education remains a top priority on his development agenda for the people of Wenchi, stressing that the future of the constituency depends largely on a well-educated youth capable of contributing meaningfully to both local and national development.

Alhaji Seidu Haruna also emphasized that the selection process for beneficiaries is strictly non-partisan, adding that students from all political backgrounds were considered.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the support, describing it as timely and a huge relief, particularly at a time when the cost of education continues to rise.

The ceremony was attended by the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Gloria Opoku Gyamfi, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Jimah Yakubu; and Mr. David Baffoe of the Wenchi Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service, among other officials.
