Anloga District Supports 55 Persons With Disabilities With Livelihood Items

The Anloga District Assembly has provided livelihood support to 55 persons with disabilities in the district to help improve their economic independence and quality of life.

The support was distributed by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Sandra Seyram Kpedor, together with the District Director of Social Welfare.

Beneficiaries received a range of items, including cash cheques, industrial sewing machines, deep freezers, crutches, wheelchairs, white canes and hearing aids, among other forms of assistance.

According to the DCE, the intervention is aimed at equipping persons with disabilities with the resources needed to establish or strengthen their livelihoods and become more economically independent.

She said the Assembly remains committed to ensuring that persons with disabilities are not left behind in the district’s development efforts.

Sandra Seyram Kpedor further reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to creating opportunities for persons with disabilities to participate meaningfully in the socio-economic development of their communities.

The initiative forms part of efforts to promote inclusion and improve the livelihoods of vulnerable groups within the Anloga District.
