Ghana 2021 Population and Housing Census (Western North)

The Western North Region was established in 2019 as one of Ghana's six new regions. It is bordered by the Ivory Coast's ComoƩ District to the west, the Central region to the southeast, and the Ashanti, Ahafo, Bono East, and Bono regions to the north. This region experiences the highest rainfall in Ghana, characterized by lush green hills and fertile soils. The area is home to numerous small and large-scale gold mining companies.

The Region has a population of 880,921 in 2021 of Ghana's total population. With a total male population standing at 451, 948 and a total female population of 428, 973. The Region has a total Household of 240,086 which refers to a person or a group of two or more persons (related or unrelated) who live together, share housekeeping arrangements (eating and sleeping), and recognize one person as the head.
