Cape Coast MCE Engages Heads of 11 SHSs to Strengthen Education
The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, has held a productive engagement with the Heads of 11 Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Cape Coast Metropolis, including the city’s only technical high school, the Cape Coast Technical Institute.

The meeting formed part of efforts by the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA) to strengthen collaboration with educational institutions and identify practical ways to improve teaching, learning and academic outcomes across the metropolis.
Key issues discussed included Assembly support for the various schools, academic excellence, institutional collaboration and the 30 percent quota for students from catchment communities where the respective schools are located.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for the MCE and the school heads to discuss other important educational and developmental concerns affecting students and the institutions.

Hon. George Justice Arthur reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to working closely with the heads of the various schools and other stakeholders to create an enabling environment for students to excel academically and develop the skills needed for their future.
The school heads, for their part, shared their perspectives and concerns, with the engagement reinforcing the importance of strong partnerships between the Metropolitan Assembly and educational institutions.
The meeting forms part of broader efforts to strengthen education in Cape Coast by promoting collaboration, supporting schools and creating opportunities for students to achieve better educational outcomes.
The Assembly reiterated its commitment to building stronger schools, empowering students and advancing education across the Cape Coast Metropolis.
