Speaking recently, Mr. Adom revealed that Ho has already begun developing a new market, which he believes will complement the 24-hour economy initiative perfectly.

Initially, the municipal administration planned to secure funds from other sources to establish the new market on land that had already been acquired. However, with the arrival of the 24-hour economy project, this venture will now be integrated into that framework, providing a timely boost to the municipality’s development.

Mr. Adom noted that Ho is fortunate to be among the first beneficiaries of this project. He also highlighted that the revenue generated from the existing old market will be a significant source of funds to supplement the benefits from the 24-hour market.

Looking ahead, the MCE revealed plans for Ho’s expansion and anticipated upgrade to Metropolitan status, which will necessitate the development of a larger market to meet future demands. He praised the 24-hour economy initiative as a key driver to stimulate and strengthen the local economy.

Touching on congestion issues in the old market, Mr. Adom shared that steps have been taken to decongest the area since he assumed office, and market women have been informed about the plans for the new market.

The MCE expressed confidence that Ho is set to become a model city in Ghana, marked by improved roads, enhanced tourism, a thriving local economy, and one of the cleanest urban environments in the country
