Ayawaso West Assembly Outlines DACF Use for Boreholes, Classroom, Clinic

Several important legacy projects are underway to improve the lives of the people. This is according to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ayawaso West, Dr. Michael Mensah.

The MCE who confirmed the Assembly’s adherence to the guidelines for the utilization of the District Assembly’s Common Fund (DACF) allocation to the Assembly mentioned these projects to include boreholes for institutions, a CHIPS compound at Santana, and a classroom block at Atraco.

Dr. Mensah assured that these projects are on track for completion by the end of the year.

In an interview with Ghanadistrict.com, Dr. Michael Mensah highlighted the Assembly's commitment to responsible financial management.

Dr. Mensah revealed that 25% of the DACF is earmarked for the design and construction of 24-Hour Economy Model Markets, while 10% is dedicated to building educational facilities. He also mentioned that the Assembly has identified a location for the 24-hour market and is collaborating with the Lands Commission to secure the land.

He also acknowledged the positive impact of the reintroduction of the National Sanitation Day by the President, leading to improvements in sanitation.

Furthermore, the MCE emphasized the importance of boosting the Assembly's internally generated funds. He outlined key strategies being implemented to achieve this, with the goal of enhancing social infrastructure.

Recognizing the significant number of graduates produced annually in Ayawaso West, Dr. Mensah also addressed the need for more student accommodation.

He encouraged individuals to invest in building hostel facilities to support students, particularly those living off-campus.
