The intervention is aimed at addressing the challenges associated with power outages at the hospital, which has the potential to disrupt the operations of critical departments and affect the delivery of essential healthcare services.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the MCE said the provision of the generator demonstrated the Assembly's commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and creating a conducive environment for health professionals to deliver quality services to residents.

He noted that reliable electricity was essential to the effective operation of the hospital, particularly as several medical procedures, equipment and other critical services depend on a stable power supply. Mr. Afari said the Assembly would continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify and address challenges confronting health facilities within the Municipality.

He urged the management and staff of the hospital to ensure proper maintenance of the equipment to prolong its lifespan and enable it to serve the facility effectively.

The management of the Wassa Akropong Government Hospital expressed appreciation to the Municipal Assembly for the intervention, describing the generator as an important addition to the facility.

The management said the equipment would provide a dependable alternative power source during outages and help minimise interruptions to healthcare services.

The intervention is expected to improve the hospital's operational efficiency and support the provision of quality healthcare to residents of Wassa Akropong and adjoining communities.
