The projects were commissioned under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Olivia Bentil, as part of the Assembly’s efforts to tackle water challenges and improve the living conditions of residents.

The newly completed mechanised boreholes are located at Nyansakyere, Anhwiam, Asikafo Ambantem in Asikuma, and Fakyenko, bringing much-needed potable water closer to households in the beneficiary communities.

The intervention is expected to ease the burden on residents who have faced challenges accessing dependable sources of potable water while contributing to improved sanitation, hygiene and public health.

Hon. Olivia Bentil said access to safe and reliable water remained a critical priority for the Assembly, stressing that development must directly address the basic needs of communities.

According to her, the commissioning of the four boreholes reflects the Assembly’s commitment to identifying pressing challenges confronting residents and responding with practical development interventions capable of delivering lasting impact.

She noted that access to potable water would not only improve the health and sanitation conditions of residents but also enhance their overall quality of life.

The MCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s determination to ensure that development reaches communities across the district, particularly in areas where residents continue to face challenges with basic amenities.

She said the Assembly would continue to work towards providing infrastructure and services that respond directly to the needs of the people.

The commissioning of the four mechanised boreholes therefore marks another important milestone in the district’s development journey, with Nyansakyere, Anhwiam, Asikafo Ambantem and Fakyenko now better positioned to enjoy improved access to potable water.

Hon. Olivia Bentil said the Assembly remained committed to building a healthier and stronger district through practical interventions that improve the daily lives of residents.

Step by step, community by community, Asikuma Odoben Brakwa is moving forward.
