He said only six of the 64 kindergartens in the district had classroom facilities, leaving pupils in the remaining schools to learn under trees or in pavilions.
Mr Bansah made the appeal when the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkwanta North, Mr John Oti Bless, handed over a three-unit Junior High School (JHS) classroom block with ancillary facilities to the District Education Directorate at Lakpor, a farming community in the district.
He expressed concern about the inadequate classroom infrastructure and called on stakeholders to support efforts to provide pupils with a safe and conducive learning environment.
Mr Oti Bless, speaking during the commissioning ceremony, reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising education and providing educational facilities to communities across the constituency.
He said education was essential to personal and professional development, noting that the achievements of many professionals would not have been possible without access to education.
The MP explained that his commitment to improving educational infrastructure was driven by his belief that every child deserved the opportunity to access quality education, regardless of their location.
He further emphasised the need for sustained investment in education to equip young people with the knowledge and skills required to contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and the country.
The handover of the three-unit JHS classroom block is expected to improve access to educational infrastructure in Lakpor and provide a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
