Bia East District hospital progressing steadily

The government’s Agenda 111 initiative, aimed at building about 111 district and regional hospitals across the country, is making significant progress in the Bia East of the Western North Region.

The facility, which is under the government’s Agenda 111 initiative, when completed will bring quality healthcare to the doorsteps of the people of Adabokrom and other adjoining communities.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr.Nicholas Kupog Yayi, the District Chief Executive for area, lauded the President for the good initiative, adding that the completion of the new hospital will significantly boost healthcare in the district.

He said residents of the District currently rely on Dormaa West, Bia West Hospital for their major healthcare needs aside Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) centres.

It is therefore welcoming the ongoing Agenda 111 project would boost access to quality health delivery when completed and in use.

He was hopeful that work will soon be completed on the project and handed over for use by March 2024.

Meanwhile, the Agenda 111 project includes 101 district hospitals, six regional hospitals in the newly created regions, two specialized hospitals in the middle and northern belts, as well as a regional hospital in the Western Region and renovation of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital.
