The call to action was also aimed to alleviate chieftaincy disputes, foster cohesion and create an enabling environment for all.

Togbe Doglo Anumah VI, President of Avenor Traditional Council and the Paramount Chief of Avenor, in his speech during the occasion, urged various chiefs and Queen mothers to be the vehicles of peace and guide each other for the progress and development of Avenor.

"Yes, we need to promote peace among ourselves, we are the figurehead of our communities, and many of our young future leaders are looking onto us as their role models and we must avoid disagreements that could undermine our influence," he said.

Togbe Anumah said that the other objective of the meeting was to deliberate on how to make Avenor Traditional Council a dispute-free, number one, and most peaceful council in the Volta Region and beyond and set a good precedent for others to follow.

He advised the chiefs to settle and resolve internal disputes and differences in-house to maintain harmony and respect among one another and strive hard to avoid court issue settlement that could destroy the reputations of the traditional council.

"My advice to families and some chiefs is that they must exercise caution, when selling or leasing their lands to developers or businesses, because our lands are valuable resources for families and developments. Families' heads must be careful with this to avoid any family disputes."

Togbe Anumah explained that as the Council strived to become the best in the Volta region, their efforts would likely have positive impacts on the communities and all citizens of Avenor should collaborate with the various chiefs and Queen mothers to achieve the targeted goals.

He said by prioritising peace, unity and effective land management, the traditional council could create a conducive environment for all while all churches, traditionalist, Muslims and other religious bodies would need to pledge their collaboration with the council for progress.

The occasion was also used to read previous minutes, introduced new chiefs, and inaugurated committees that would formulate and work on the chieftaincy constitutions of the area to guide, protect and promote the activities of chiefs and people of the areas while the initiative also demonstrated the council's commitment to creating a harmonious and prosperous communities.

Some Chiefs and Queen mothers after the meeting expressed satisfaction and pledged to adhere to the rules and regulations as well as help promote the objectives of council for better development.

They also promised to help authorities to curb the drug abuse and other menace among youth in the communities to promote better development and progress for future leaders.

They commended Togbe Doglo Anumah VI, who championed the ideas that brought about the ideas and efforts to promote peace and unity by introducing and launching "Aveno Tutudoza" festival which brought chiefs and people of Avenor together.

The next meeting of the Traditional Council is expected to be held in June to deliberate on other development projects.
