The anesthesia machine which constitutes a mechanical ventilator, breathing system, suction system, and patient monitoring devices, was jointly procured and donated to the hospital to aid in the delivery of medical services to patients.

The MP could not hide his excitement and acknowledged the relentless moves by the management of the hospital to get him to facilitate the delivery of the machine when the request came to his desk.

He said that such a move by management was good and that is what has culminated in the purchase of the anesthesia machine and therefore encouraged management to draw up programs that would seek to educate the local people on some of the major health concerns in the district.

The DCE said, good health or healthy living is the top-most priority or needs of the people.

She encouraged management of the facility to work together to continue to deliver health services to the people of Chereponi.

Speaking at a brief handing-over ceremony at the Chereponi Government Hospital, the administrator of the hospital, Mr. Abdul Karim Abdul Rahaman expressed gratitude to the MP and the DCE for the donation.

“We never thought it would ever come to pass, but today, it is real and everybody can see it. We thank God the Almighty for choosing leaders like you for this occasion. We ask God to protect your positions and guide your offices” He said

The medical superintendent of Chereponi Government Hospital, Dr. Abdul Rauf Sulemana thanked the MP and DCE for Chereponi and said that the donation has come promptly and would enhance the delivery of health care and address some of the challenges of the hospital.

He called for the strengthening of collaborations among institutions and agencies in the district and also disclosed that a blood donation exercise would be organized in May this year to augment the blood bank of the hospital.
