The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, has praised the pace of development in Banda District, saying President John Dramani Mahama and the Member of Parliament for Banda, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, have significantly transformed the area in less than two years.

According to the Regional Minister, the numerous development projects being undertaken across the district demonstrate a strong commitment to improving infrastructure and residents’ living conditions.

Hon. Akwaboa made the remarks while briefing the media ahead of his District Accountability Tour of Banda, during which he will engage stakeholders and assess the progress of development projects.

He expressed satisfaction with the number and spread of projects across the district, noting that interventions were targeting key sectors to respond to community needs.

Assessments in Banda indicate that about 75 major physical infrastructure projects are at various stages across the district, covering education, healthcare, roads, water and sanitation, security and other critical sectors.

The projects include classroom blocks, teachers’ and nurses’ accommodation, CHPS compounds, police facilities and other community infrastructure. Some have been completed, while others are still under construction.

The Banda MP, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, has also reiterated his commitment to using his position to advance development in the district and ensure infrastructure projects are equitably distributed among communities.

The development drive also includes the government’s 24-hour market initiative, with construction at Bongase in the Banda District having commenced after a sod-cutting ceremony in June 2026.

Hon. Akwaboa’s accountability tour forms part of efforts to monitor government projects, engage residents and assess the impact of development interventions across the district.

He said the government remained committed to extending development to all parts of Banda and improving opportunities and services for residents.
