The meeting, held at the Ayiem Community Centre on Monday, October 12, 2026, provided a platform for the Assembly to discuss its 2026 budget performance, development plans, ongoing projects and service delivery in the district.

Discussions focused on development projects earmarked for communities within the Ayiem Area Council, with residents urging the Assembly to reconsider some planned interventions they deemed less relevant to their immediate needs.

They called on the Assembly’s leadership and development planners to redirect resources towards projects that would address pressing community challenges and deliver greater benefits to residents.

The concerns highlighted the importance of consulting communities and involving stakeholders in setting development priorities to ensure that public investments reflect the needs and aspirations of the people.

During the meeting, residents also raised questions about issues affecting their communities and the district’s development agenda. The Assembly’s leadership responded to the concerns, providing explanations and clarifications on the matters discussed.

The engagement formed part of the Assembly’s efforts to promote transparency, accountability and citizen participation in local governance, while providing residents with an opportunity to express their views and contribute to decisions on development planning and service delivery.

The meeting was organised in line with the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), the National Development Planning (System) Act, 1994 (Act 480), and the National Decentralisation Policy Framework, which emphasise public participation in the planning and implementation of development programmes.
