The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Dordoe Kudjoe Isaiah, said the project forms part of President John Dramani Mahama's vision to stimulate economic growth by expanding market infrastructure and creating opportunities for businesses to operate beyond the traditional trading hours.
He explained that the District Assembly facilitated the project by making land available at the Kpassa Market, enabling construction to commence as soon as approval was granted..jpg)
According to the DCE, building materials have already been delivered to the site, and work is expected to continue steadily as the project advances.
Workers at the construction site, however, disclosed that construction had been temporarily suspended due to a shortage of cement. They indicated that they had been assured fresh supplies would arrive the following day, allowing work to resume without significant delay.
When completed, the market is expected to enhance commercial activities, improve trading opportunities and support local economic development in the Nkwanta North District.
