MP donates sewing machines, dryers to 1,000 apprentices at Ellembelle

Some 1,000 seamstresses and hairdressers in the northern part of Ellembelle in the Western Region have taken delivery of sewing machines and hair- dryers from the Member of Parliament (MP), Mr. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, as start-up kits.

They also received seed capital as part of the second trench of donations to young women, totaling 5000, who had completed an apprenticeship training programme.

Mr. Buah made the donation at Nkroful during the NkrumaFest celebrtion and also at the commissioning of an ultra-modern Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound at Santaso in the Aiyinasi-North District.

He reiterated his commitment towards youth economic empowerment through self-help projects and employment.

Mr. Buah, who is seeking re-election, said he had vowed to alleviate abject poverty in the Ellembelle constituency, especially among the youth.

He said: "Whether in opposition or in government, I will continue to bring more development to Ellembelle because what I do is not only borne out of my role as a politician, but more importantly, service to God Almighty".

He noted that his continued and untiring service to Ghana, especially his constituents, had been a source of joy and fulfilment to him.
