The initiative forms part of efforts by the Assembly to empower persons with disabilities and provide them with the means to become economically independent and improve their standard of living.

The beneficiaries received different forms of support based on their individual needs. Items presented included deep freezers stocked with assorted drinks, ovens, industrial sewing machines, and cash support for educational expenses, among others.

Speaking at the presentation, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Philibert Selorm Fummey, urged the beneficiaries to use the items and financial assistance wisely to achieve the intended purpose of the programme.

He encouraged them to see the support as an opportunity to build sustainable businesses and improve their livelihoods rather than depending solely on further assistance.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Government and the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly for the support. They said the items and financial assistance would help them start or expand their businesses and create better opportunities for themselves and their families.

The intervention is expected to contribute to the social and economic empowerment of persons with disabilities within the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality.
