The Model 2 facility, which will comprise 96 lockable stores and 150 sheds, will include cold storage facilities, supermarkets, warehouses, a slaughterhouse, and a financial institution.

The market will also feature a daycare centre, pharmacy, police and fire service posts, a restaurant and food court, as well as parking spaces for vehicles.

The project, which will be undertaken by New Modern World Company Limited, is expected to be completed within 30 months.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Atebubu-Amantin Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Masud Musa Ayaaba Thomas, stated that the execution of the project marks the fulfillment of a campaign promise made by the National Democratic Congress ahead of the 2024 general elections.

He expressed gratitude to the Amantin Traditional Council for increasing the initially requested four-acre land for the project to eleven acres.

The Member of Parliament for the Atebubu-Amantin Constituency, Hon. Sanja Nanja, urged the project consultant and contractor to strictly adhere to the project timelines. He also appealed to the people to offer the necessary support to facilitate the work, adding that the project would create employment opportunities for the youth in the town.

Nana Barima Osei Poku, Krontihene of the Amantin Traditional Area, who chaired the function, expressed gratitude to the government for the gesture and pledged the support of the chiefs and people of Amantin towards the successful completion of the project.
