The facility is expected to provide pupils with greater access to computers and digital learning resources, equipping them with essential ICT skills needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.

The initiative forms part of efforts to bridge the digital divide in basic education and provide learners, particularly those in underserved communities, with opportunities to develop practical computer skills from an early age.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Municipal Education Director, Mrs. Esther Jones Safo, underscored the importance of ICT education in the development of pupils.

She noted that technology had become an integral part of modern education and encouraged teachers and pupils to make effective use of the facility to enhance teaching, learning and research.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Akwetey Agbo, also highlighted the importance of partnerships between the public and private sectors in addressing developmental challenges within the municipality.

According to him, collaboration between institutions and development partners could help provide critical infrastructure and resources needed to improve the quality of education and other social services.

He expressed appreciation to GCB Bank PLC for supporting the development of the school and urged the school authorities to ensure that the facility was properly maintained and used for its intended purpose.

The commissioning of the laboratory is expected to create a more technology-friendly learning environment at Atiwoto M/A Basic School and enable pupils to acquire practical digital skills that will support their academic development.
