Residents in the Nkwanta North District receive start-up kits from the BizBox project

Over 100 people in the Nkwanta North District in the Oti Region, under the Business in a Box (BizBox) project, have received essential start-up kits to enhance their livelihoods.

The Business in a Box (BizBox) project is a partnership between the Mastercard Foundation and Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).

The initiative aimed at empowering individuals by providing them with tools to foster self- efficiency and economic growth.

The items distributed included sewing machines and hair dryers, which are crucial for those looking to establish or expand their businesses.

Mr. William Nawugma, the District Chief Executive of Nkwanta North, stressed the importance of utilising the resources effectively, urging them to embrace the opportunity presented to them.

He said the items are not just gifts but rather tools for their future resources that will transform their aspirations into reality.

Mr. Nawugma encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of what they received and turn their skills into sustainable income.

He also outlined the measures put in place by the assembly to ensure that the items were used for it intended purpose.

The beneficiaries, including hairstylists and dressmakers, expressed their gratitude for the support and pledged to make good use of the items they received.
