The street lights, received through the Ministry of Energy, are being installed from the Yameriga E-Block through to Sheaga as part of efforts to improve visibility, enhance public safety and strengthen security within the area.
The intervention is particularly significant as the stretch has in recent times been identified as a hotspot for armed robbery and attacks on motorists and residents, with some incidents resulting in the loss of motorbikes and other personal belongings.
During the inspection, Hon. John Millim Nabwomya expressed satisfaction with the progress of work and underscored the commitment of the Talensi District Assembly to improving security and creating a safer environment for residents and road users.
He noted that the provision of the solar-powered street lights would help improve nighttime visibility along the stretch while supporting efforts to curb criminal activities in the area.
The DCE assured residents that the Assembly would continue to work closely with the Ministry of Energy, security agencies and other relevant stakeholders to promote development and address the security concerns of communities across the district.
The Talensi District Assembly expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Energy and other stakeholders for their support, noting that such interventions continue to contribute significantly to the development, safety and well-being of residents across the district.
