Sefwi Wiawso MCE Visits Rainstorm Victims, Assures Support

The Municipal Chief Executive for the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has visited residents affected by the recent rainstorm that struck parts of the municipality, assuring them of the Assembly’s support during this difficult period.

The visit, undertaken together with officials from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), was aimed at assessing the extent of damage caused by the storm and interacting directly with victims whose homes and properties were affected.

During the inspection tour, the MCE and the NADMO team visited several affected communities where they engaged residents to better understand their immediate needs and challenges. Hon. Dominic Gyasi also provided financial assistance to some of the victims to help them cope with the situation while further relief support is being mobilized.

Addressing residents during the visit, the MCE assured affected families that the Municipal Assembly is working closely with relevant stakeholders to secure additional relief items and support to assist those impacted by the disaster.

He emphasized that the Assembly remains committed to the welfare and safety of residents, particularly in times of crisis, and will continue to collaborate with key agencies to ensure that victims receive the necessary assistance to rebuild their lives.

The recent rainstorm caused significant damage to several homes and properties across parts of the municipality, leaving some residents temporarily displaced.

Authorities say assessment of the damage is still ongoing as efforts continue to provide relief and restore normalcy to the affected communities.
