The rehabilitation works, which commenced in 2024 under the Social Cohesion Initiative, are expected to improve access to water for farming activities, livestock production, and other socio-economic activities within the community.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Faustina Abulu, together with her team, inspected the facility during the commissioning ceremony to assess the quality of work undertaken.

Expressing satisfaction with the successful completion of the project, the MCE urged residents to take proper care of the dam by ensuring effective maintenance and protection of the facility to guarantee its long-term sustainability.

She emphasized that the rehabilitated dam would play a crucial role in enhancing agricultural productivity and supporting economic activities in the area.

The Chief and people of Natugnia expressed gratitude to the Municipal Assembly and stakeholders for the intervention, describing the project as a major relief that will positively impact farming and improve livelihoods in the community.

Residents believe the rehabilitated dam will help reduce water challenges, support dry-season farming, and contribute significantly to local development efforts.
