Miss Vondey stated that just like other brilliant but needy learners in the area, it was difficult to pursue a higher academic education due to the financial burden it placed on their families.
She stated for instance that being a part of the Kajanya Presby Child and Youth Development Centre (CYDC) under Compassion International, she qualified to be supported from primary school through to the tertiary.
Speaking at the sidelines of the 10th anniversary celebration of the CYDC, he added that beneficiaries also receive quality healthcare and food provision.
“They are also financing my tertiary. I am grateful for the support they are giving me. It is really a blessing,” she expressed.
She added that she saw being at the university as a dream come true and encouraged young ones not to fear university education but to aim higher to climb the academic ladder.
She called on other NGOs and philanthropists to extend help to natives and residents of Ada to enable their young ones to attain higher education to help change the community and contribute to the development of the country in the future.
Miss Vondey was awarded a citation and other packages during the celebration.
