Wa Assembly suspends weekly activities in Piisi Market
The Wa Municipal Assembly has suspended weekly activities at the Piisi Market days effective Friday, May 1, 2020.

This directive was contained in a press release from the assembly asking all traders not to come to the Wa and Piisi Markets for their usual weekly market tradings.
According to the release, the decision was taken at the Municipal Security meeting held on Thursday, 23rd April 2020 at the Assembly Conference hall.
This is to help prevent the fast spread of the Novel COVID-19 pandemic in the Wa Municipality.
All market actors, together with market women, traders, restaurant operators, wayside food vendors, hawkers, and many more other individuals are directed to appropriately wear face masks in transacting trading activities within the municipality.
The statement also cautioned that nobody would be allowed entry into all daily public market centres in the Wa Municipality without wearing face masks.
All transport unions, notably, commercial drivers and tricycle operators operating within the Wa Municipality are also directed to wear face masks and admonished respective passengers to do the same".
The Assembly also called on all private and public institutions to also adhere to the directive.
