The commissioning ceremony, held on Monday, June 1, 2026, was led by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Alfred Eklu Odikro, and the Member of Parliament for Agotime-Ziope, Hon. Charles Agbeve, with support from traditional authorities, Assembly Members, and other stakeholders.
The first project commissioned was the Agohokpo Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound, which is expected to bring essential healthcare services closer to residents and improve access to quality healthcare in the community.
The facility, initiated during the administration of the late President John Evans Atta Mills and completed under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, is regarded as a significant investment in strengthening healthcare delivery and enhancing the well-being of residents.
As part of efforts to support community development, Hon. Charles Agbeve donated a public address system to the people of Agohokpo to improve communication and information dissemination within the community.
The delegation later proceeded to Takuve, where a newly constructed Kindergarten Block with ancillary facilities was officially commissioned. The project is expected to provide a safer and more conducive learning environment for pupils while contributing to the advancement of early childhood education in the area.
Addressing residents at the event, Hon. Alfred Eklu Odikro reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to inclusive development, stressing that every community within the district deserves access to improved infrastructure and social services.
On their return journey, the delegation paid a courtesy call on officials of the Ghana Boundary Authority at Wodome. Discussions centred on challenges confronting border communities and opportunities for collaboration to foster development in the area.
The Agotime-Ziope District Assembly says it remains committed to improving livelihoods through strategic investments in healthcare, education, and community development across the district.
