The newly completed facility, which commenced on November 17, 2025, includes a nurses’ quarters and a mechanised borehole to ensure adequate water supply for both healthcare delivery and the surrounding community.
Speaking at the ceremony, the District Chief Executive emphasized that the project forms part of the Assembly’s commitment to bringing quality healthcare closer to the people, particularly those in rural communities.
“This reaffirms our commitment that where you live should not determine whether you live,” the DCE stated.
According to the DCE, the commissioning of the facility is expected to improve maternal and child healthcare, strengthen preventive healthcare services, and enhance emergency response at the grassroots level.
The Health Directorate was commended for posting competent and dedicated health personnel to the facility even before its official commissioning, a move described as a demonstration of readiness to serve the people effectively.
Addressing members of the Community Health Management Committee, the DCE urged them to play an active role in mobilising residents, educating them on available health services, monitoring the facility, and promptly reporting challenges for swift intervention.
The people of Fahiakobo were also encouraged to seek early medical care, avoid self-medication, and refrain from visiting unqualified health practitioners.
Special appreciation was extended to the President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama, for his vision and commitment toward improving healthcare infrastructure across the country.
The DCE also expressed gratitude to the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, for his policy direction, as well as the Ashanti Regional Minister, Frank Amoakohene, for his coordination and support toward the successful completion of the project.
