Kwahu Afram Plains South DCE Donates 40 Mattresses to Newly Posted Nurses

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwahu Afram Plains South, Hon. Moses Tangme, has donated 40 mattresses to newly posted nurses in the district as part of efforts to improve staff welfare and encourage health workers to remain at their duty posts.

The donation is aimed at supporting the accommodation needs of newly posted nurses and creating a more conducive environment for them to settle and deliver quality healthcare services to residents.

Presenting the mattresses, Hon. Moses Tangme said the initiative formed part of the Assembly's commitment to motivating health workers and addressing challenges that affect staff retention in the district.

The DCE stressed the importance of having adequate health personnel at post to improve access to healthcare, particularly for communities that face challenges due to the district's geographical location.

Receiving the items, the District Health Director, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Ansah, expressed appreciation to the DCE and the Assembly for the gesture.

He noted that staff retention continues to be a major challenge in the district but disclosed that 36 out of the 38 nurses posted to the district this year had reported for duty.

Mr. Ansah urged the newly posted nurses to remain committed to their duties and serve the people with dedication, professionalism and compassion.

He further encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity to serve in the district and contribute meaningfully to improving healthcare delivery.

The donation forms part of the Kwahu Afram Plains South District Assembly's broader efforts to improve staff welfare, strengthen health service delivery and ensure that health workers posted to the district are adequately supported.
