He said the community also required similar assistance from wealthy individuals, corporate bodies and philanthropic organisations towards the construction of a basic school for the people.
In an interview at Dwen, near Dormaa-Ahenkro, the chief expressed worry that the area lacked basic necessities of life.
He also called on the government for employment opportunities for the people to spur rapid socio economic growth and development.
Nana Katakyie explained that the community had been able to mobilise some funds for the construction of the primary school and two dug wells and therefore required assistance to complete the projects.
Besides, the chief said the people needed a community clinic, library, and recreational centre and urged entrepreneurs to open pharmacy shops to enhance the health status of the people.
He said because of the lack of those facilities the people had to travel to Dormaa- Ahenkro to access social services, calling for support to also rehabilitate the deplorable condition of their only primary school.
“Though we have a kindergarten school, it is not enough and we are ready to release land to developers for more of such facilities to improve the living condition of the people,” Nana Katakyie added.
