Presiding Member Emphasizes Local Governance Priorities

Mr. Pimbo Salifu, Presiding Member, underscored the meeting's significance in Ghana's democratic governance and decentralization framework. He noted that elected and appointed members bear the responsibility of shaping policies and providing strategic direction for the district's socio-economic development.

"Local governance is founded on sustainable national development," Salifu stated, adding that the Assembly is committed to transforming community aspirations into practical development programmes across education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, sanitation, security, and economic opportunities.

 Assembly Ranks First in Bono East Region for Financial Management

In a notable achievement, Salifu announced the district's performance in the 2025 Public Financial Management (PFM) Compliance League Table. Kintampo South ranked 1st in the Bono East Region and 66th nationally among Ghana's 261 districts—an improvement from its 2024 positions of 2nd regionally and 68th nationally.

"This reflects our collective commitment to transparency, accountability, prudent financial management, and effective service delivery," he said.

 District Hosts Regional Anti-Drug Abuse Event

The district hosted the Bono East Region's International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking celebration at Amoma, an event Salifu said could attract potential investors and development partners while stimulating economic growth and employment opportunities in the area.

 DCE Presents Executive Committee Report

Mr. Zuuri, District Chief Executive, presented the Executive Committee's recommendation report for consideration by the general house. Key proposals included:

Cattle Taskforce: Redefining membership with relevant stakeholder involvement to ensure clarity and operational effectiveness

 Marriage Registration: Expanding revenue generation through enhanced sensitization and public awareness

• Feeder Roads: Reshaping roads connecting farming communities to help farmers transport produce to the district capital

• Project Takeover: The Assembly assuming ownership of World Vision-implemented projects for proper documentation
  
  
• Infrastructure: Connecting Mo-Nkwanta SDA Basic School, CHPS Compound, and Sabule CHPS Compound to the national grid
  
  
• Business Support: Making LED start-up kits distribution lists available for monitoring purposes
  
  

• Business Fora: Organizing two annual business sensitization events for beauticians, tailoring associations, and farmer business schools.

• Mr. Nicolas Aboagye, Development Planning Director, delivered a PowerPoint presentation on the ongoing Saftynet Project in the district
