The two short but colourful ceremonies were attended by staff and directors of the Kintampo South District Assembly, as well as management and staff of the Kintampo South Education Directorate.

In a brief address, Mr Zuuri spoke about the importance of the programme to children beginning their primary school education.

“The District Assembly, with the support of the Member of Parliament (MP), Madam Felicia Adjie, is working hard to provide the necessary educational facilities in the district to facilitate the learning of our children,” he said.

The second phase of the presentation was held at the District Assembly warehouse, where more than 800 pieces of mono desks, dual desks and KG furniture were presented to the District Director of Education.

Mr Zuuri outlined some investments made in the education sector since he and the MP assumed office in 2025.

He said four school blocks had been completed, six-unit classroom blocks for Junior High School (JHS) and Kindergarten (KG) had been provided, while 25 additional schools had been added to the school feeding programme, increasing the number of beneficiary schools from 18 to 43.

He said the investments in the district were largely focused on education because the Assembly and its partners believed in providing children with quality education and easy access to learning facilities to prepare them for leadership and contribute to the development of the Kintampo South District.

The DCE promised the District Director of Education additional furniture to ensure that no school in the district lacked the necessary furniture.

The District Director of Education for Kintampo South, Mr Kwesi Poku, expressed gratitude to the District Assembly for its continued support to the education sector.

“This is a very important gesture because some of these items will motivate the pupils, and for the first time, some of the children will get access to a classroom,” he said.

He added: “The President of the Republic of Ghana is making education sector policies a priority, and we, as education providers, will not relent in delivering quality education in the Kintampo South District.”

Mr Poku thanked the DCE and the MP for their support and commitment to improving education in the district.

He assured the DCE that the items would be properly maintained and put to good use, noting that they had been provided with taxpayers’ money.

He also assured the Assembly of quality education delivery by his staff and expressed hope for continued support to the education sector.
