Farmers received seedlings
New Juaben North Municipal Assembly has distributed eighteen thousand (18,000) Palm tree seedlings to selected farmers in the Municipality on Monday, 29th April, 2024 at Effiduase.

The project which is under the government initiative “planting for Export and Rural Development Programme (PERD)” is aimed at assisting farmers within the Municipality in their livelihood.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Edward Asante Antwi in his speech educated all that were present on the inception of the PERD program, saying it begun six years ago, and that, it is aimed at drawing more attention to agriculture and how both employed and unemployed individuals can venture into it to make a living for themselves, which will in turn subsidize unemployment in the country.
The Municipal Agric Director, Mr. Emmanuel Amenu further expressed how pleased he was that, after a long period of farmers in the municipality requesting for the seedlings, they finally had been heard and answered.
He assured them that this was only a fraction of the many things about to be given to the farmers to enable them work more effectively and efficiently.
He concluded by encouraging the general public to take advantage of the Planting for Export and Rural Development and got registered to have access to the numerous benefits of the programme to improve their lives.
The beneficiary farmers expressed their gratitude to the MCE and the government for the initiative and pledged to take excellent care of the seedlings given to them.
