The Asuogyaman District Assembly is one of the 260 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in Ghana and forms part of the thirty three 33 Municipalities and Districts in Eastern Region.

It covers a total estimated surface area of 827 square kilometers and constitutes 5.7% of the total area of Eastern Region.

Asuogyaman District is located approximately between latitudes 6º 34º N and 6º 10º N and longitudes 0º 1º W and 0º14E. The Administrative capital of the District is Atimpoku.

The District share boarders with Kwahu Afram Plains South District to the north and the Upper Manya Krobo District and Lower Manya Krobo Municipal to the south and west, to the east with Kpando Municipal, North Dayi District, Ho Municipal and the North Tongu District of the Volta Region.

The population of the District according to 2021 population and housing census stands at 101,256 with 48,723 males and 52,533 females.
