Tidal waves render 75 homeless at ‘Fuveme’
Tidal waves on Monday rendered 75 persons homeless and destroyed close to 20 houses at Fuveme, a community in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region.

Although no casualties were recorded, relief items were needed to support families until the situation got better.
The incident interrupted commercial activities, including fishing, buying and selling in the area.
Speaking in an interview, some worried residents of the community revealed that more havoc is usually caused whenever it occurred in the middle of the night and that the area needed thorough assessment to forestall the annual disaster.
They also called on the government to expand the sea Keta sea defence project to help improve the situation.
