Bono East NDC elects Executives
Delegates of the Bono East National Democratic Congress (NDC) have successfully elected their regional executives at the maiden Bono East Regional conference held at the Kintampo Senior High School Assembly Hall in the Kintampo North Municipality.

The highly competitive election saw 36 candidates vying for the fourteen (14) positions at stake. There was however no contest for the regional Treasures and Deputy Communication Officer as candidates Raphael Gapson and Abubkari Salemana went unopposed respectively.

A total of 343 delegates drawn from the eleven constituencies that make up the Bon East Region were conducted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana in conjunction with members of the party’s election directorate.


Amidst funfair and jamboree performed while elections were conducted with Unass Owusu, popularly known as Unasso emerging as the Bono East Regional Chairman elect. He won with 118 of the valid votes cast beating the former Deputy Minister for Education and former Member of Parliament for Techiman North, Honorable Alex Kyeremeh.

Mr. Unass Owusu had previously served as Vice Chairman in the erstwhile Brong Ahafo Regional and had just donated a story building to the party to be used as the Regional Party Office with the promise of providing each constituency one motor king tricycle to work and fund party activities through an interview granted to him.


The conference was well attended by former ministers, former members of parliament, sitting members of parliament, former Municipal and District Chief Executives, Party stalwarts and National Executive members. Notable among them was the National Vice Chairman of the party, Chief SofoAzorka, the former Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Elizabeth ofosu-Agyare.
