MCE receives dental chairs, hospital consumables on behalf of Municipal Hospital

Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive and Bono Regional Minister designate, Evelyn Ama Kumi-Richardson (Mrs.) received dental chairs and some hospital consumables on behalf of the Sunyani Municipal hospital at a short ceremony at the forecourt of the Assembly yesterday.

The items were presented by Mr. Matthew Aboah a Ghanaian philanthropist domiciled in Canada on behalf of his NGO called Help Build a Foundation which is in both Canada and Ghana.

The presentation is in response to a request that the MCE made to Mr. Aboah and his NGO when she visited Canada last year.

Presenting the items to the Hon. MCE, Mr. Aboah said his NGO's aim is to help schools and hospitals in the country especially those which are in need. He said this is not the first time they are helping a hospital in the country but that they have extended the same gesture to some schools and hospitals in the Eastern and central regions of Ghana.

He added that they are working on something bigger for the sunyani hospital as requested by the MCE and when it's ready they will let her know.

Receiving the items, MCE was full of praise for Mr.Matthew Aboah and his NGO for responding to her request. MCE added that since she assumed office she had been traveling overseas all in a bid to get development for her Municipality adding "we need a lot of developments in Sunyani and its environs and government alone cannot meet all our needs hence the need to solicit help elsewhere ".

The MCE handed the items to Dr. Paulina Appiah, Municipal health Director and charged her to make sure they are used for the purpose for which they were brought and they should be maintained.

Dr. Appiah thanked the MCE for the initiative and pledged to make sure they are used to ensure that the people of Sunyani and beyond get good healthcare. She in turn handed them over to Dr. Arkoh Robert a surgeon and medical Director of the hospital.
