Akufo-Addo revokes appointment of Birim Central MCE
President Nana Akufo-Addo has revoked the appointment of Municipal Chief Executive for Birim Central, Victoria Adu, with immediate effect.

The President, in accordance with Article 243(3)(b) of the constitution and section 20(3) (b) of the Local Governance Act 2016 (ACT 936) relieved Madam Adu from her position pending the appointment of a new MCE.
The sacked MCE is consequently expected to handover her duties to the regional minister who will exercise oversight responsibility of the municipal Assembly until the confirmation of a new municipal chief executive.
Until her dismissal yesterday, Victoria Adu, had been serving in that capacity for five years following her appointment in 2019.
