TANO S: MCE cuts sod for CHPS, toilet facility for Adaa and Bechem
A ground breaking ceremony for the construction of toilet facilities, quarters and CHPS compound has been held at Bechem and Adaa in the Tano South Municipality.

The sod–cutting ceremony held in the communities saw the attendance of the MCE, Chiefs, Assembly members and some officials from the Tano South Municipal Assembly.

At Adaa, the Tano South Municipal Chief Executive, Collins Offinam Takyi (Hon.) thanked the people for their prompt response and said, the population of Adaa has increased tremendously mean while there is no health facility in the community. Therefore, government through Tano South Municipal Assembly has put measures in place to construct a modern CHPS Compound comprising consulting room, dispensary etc. at Adaa.

He said when the projects commence, the contractor will employ more people from the beneficiary community to work on the project.



Hon. Takyi said the construction of the CHPS compound and nursing quarters is also one of the campaign promises made to the people of Adaa by the then Opposition New Patriotic Party during the 2016 general elections and hinted that when the project is completed; it will serve the people of Adaa and its environs.

He used the occasion to inform the community members not to politicize the project but rather to give their maximum support to the contractor to make the contractor completes the project on time.

In another development, Hon. Takyi said, government in its 2018 budget promised to construct more public toilet facilities to make the citizenry acquire better place of convenience and stressed that, it is upon the promise that the Tano South Municipal Assembly has put in place mechanisms to construct the twenty (20) Seater KVIP toilet facility at Bechem Toronto to augment the existing ones.



He said most of the toilet facilities in Bechem are not in good shape and the construction of the twenty seater KVIP toilet facility will go a long way to address some the problems confronting the people of Bechem Toronto.

Nana Fosu Darkwah who represented the Omanhene of Bechem Traditional Area thanked the Municipal Chief Executive for the kind gesture and promised to give their support to ensure the contractors complete the projects on time.
