However, the syllable has been removed from the next curriculum which has caused dismay in the society.

In an interview with, Mr. Debrah Ussher, an Educationist on the Asem No Nie hosted by Kofi Appiah on Community Radio, he expressed his disapproval about the way they are treating the moral aspect of our lives. According to him, comparing the previous education system to the current one, one can attest to the fact that we (country) are not giving much focus to building the moral fiber of our society

He said this is the time to give proper foundation to the children in order for them to grow up into deserving young children, adding that the removal of Religious and Moral Education from the core subject is negatively going to impact society, and pleads with the authorities to bring back the Religious and Moral Education as one of the core subjects in the curriculum.

Since young people read and unconsciously assimilate all types of influences, good or bad, if they do not have proper guidance, it would affect their moral development.

It is therefore important that society provides them with a type of education that will make them acquire sound religious and moral principles, and also develop appropriate attitudes and values that will help them to make good choices and decisions in their adulthood, he added.
