It is in this view that the Assembly, is thus calling for support from various stakeholders, development partners and other benevolent organizations to support and collaborate in the implementation of its Medium Term Development Plan (MDTP) for the benefit of the people.

The Assembly has however, assured that it will for the meantime put in place measures to develop effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure judicious use of the district’s limited resource.

Speaking at a public forum to help solicit input from stakeholders to finalize the preparation of the District’s Medium Term Development Plan, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Daniel Kwame Gariba noted that the forum was aimed at strengthening decentralization by involving the ordinary Ghanaian Citizenry in decision making process.

He stated that the forum provides a unique opportunity for us to share productive ideas and make vital inputs in fine-tuning the draft DMTDP for the adoption of the Assembly for subsequent implementation, adding that the plan looks at strategies to improve the living standards of the people in the area.

He said: “The era where planning was done and imposed on the people is far gone. It is done and owed by the people through stakeholder involvement and popular participation in the planning process.”

He added that “It is therefore; in light of this that the forum is being held to solicit your views in the planning process to ensure that we develop and own a workable document that would propel our beloved district to higher height”.

He admonished the stakeholders gathered to make necessary inputs to help finalize the preparation of the MDTP since it will guide the development agenda of the district for the next four years.
