Bono Regional Minister, deputy visit Wenchi Municipal
The Bono Regional Minister Mrs. Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson and her Deputy Siaka Stevens have paid a working visit to Wenchi.

The visit afforded the opportunity to the duty bearers to introduce themselves to Nananom of the Wenchi Traditional Council.
The Omanhemaa of Wenchi Nana Ntoa Sramangyadua III expressed her delight in the Presidents appointment of a woman as the first minister of the Bono Region.
She advised the minister to work with diligence and total commitment towards the development of the region.
She promised to lead a delegation of queenmothers in her traditional area to also go to welcome them in office.
One thing that had saddened my people in recent time, the Queenmother lamented was the drop in the purchase price of cashew this year.
She bemoan that cashew farmers in her traditional area could not meet their expectation in the cashew sales this season and therefore called on the minister to use her good office to find solution to the situation.
On his part the Deputy Minister Hon Siaka Stephens explained to the gathering that the government did not have a hand in the pricing of cashew but was rather determined by the farmers and the buyers especially their trading partners from India, china, Brazil etc. who had on yearly basis been dealing directly with the farmers.
He said this among others orchestrated the Nana Addo led government’s decision to come-up with a framework to regularize the industry.
He said a bill on the formation of Cashew Development Board was to be laid before the house (Parliament) for consideration.
Hon. Stevens further explained that the board when established will regulate the industry and farmers will enjoy fruits of their labor, he noted.
He highlighted some of the benefits of the 10 year Cashew Development Plan which was launched by the President Nana Akuffo Addo sometime last year to the people.
The Regional minister Mrs. Evenly Kumi Ama Richardson thanked the chiefs for the warm reception they enjoyed.
She further asked Nananom to work closely with the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Dr Prince Kwakye Afriyie for the rapid development of the municipality. She requested of Nananom to continuously support the N.P.P Government to deliver.
She thanked Nananom for their support and contribution throughout the years in ensuring social –economic development.
She was accompanied by the District Chief Executive of Sunyani West Hon. Martin Obeng and other party functionaries such the Regional Women’s Organizer and the Regional Youth Organizer.
